Abstract

Transformations of nanosized boehmite and γ-Al2O3 powders into α-Al2O3 upon heat treatment were studied by X-ray powder diffraction and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The parameters of α-Al2O3 are reported depending on the precursor boehmite particle size. A nanosized boehmite powder while heated to 1150°С transforms consecutively into various alumina phases without changes in the shape and size of the initial particles.
