Blumea hunanensis (Asteraceae: Inuleae), a new species from Hunan, China

Summary

A new species of Blumea DC. (Asteraceae: Inuleae) from Hunan Province, Central China, B. hunanensis L.D.Duan & Yun Lin, is described, illustrated and photographed. The new species is morphologically similar to B. hieraciifolia (Spreng.) DC., but differs from the latter in having two pseudostipules per stem node, leaf blade 13 – 26 cm long, 4 – 9 cm wide, veins 9 – 14 pairs, capitula pedunculate, peduncle 1.0 – 2.4 cm long, outer phyllaries recurved, and corolla lobes glabrous.
