Abstract—

Based on the previously developed analytical model of jet–wing interaction noise, we analyze the results of measuring the azimuthal modes of pressure pulsations in the near field of a free turbulent jet and the azimuthal modes of noise arising from interaction between a jet and a nearby flat plate simulating an airplane wing. The interrelation of the characteristics of the near hydrodynamic and far acoustic fields of pressure pulsations for the jet–plate system is demonstrated. A simplified method is proposed for collecting the necessary information for the model.
