Low-Shrinkage Ceramic Based on Fine-Grained Dolerite Wastes from Crushed-Stone Production

  • Published:
Glass and Ceramics Aims and scope Submit manuscript

The results of the possibility of using dolerite fine-grained waste from crushed-stone production in ceramic batch for the manufacture of low-shrinkage articles are presented. It was discovered that during solid-phase sintering the wastes decrease the fire shrinkage for raw material in all forms. During sintering, in the presence of the liquid phase, the wastes play a reinforcing role in the formation of the structure of the ceramic material and impart high physicomechanical properties to the articles.
