Continuous flow synthesis of 2,2′-diselenobis(benzoic acid) and derivatives

Abstract

The continuous flow synthesis of the key building block 2,2′-diselenobis(benzoic acid) (DSBA) is herein reported. Water was used as a solvent in a reaction time as short as 90 s. This provided a successful strategy for the synthesis of DSBA which was obtained in excellent yield. The optimized procedure has been extended to DSBA derivatives.
