Magdalena Götz is a developmental biologist who discovered the glial nature of stem cells in the developing brain and elucidated key cellular and molecular mechanisms of neurogenesis. This led her to pioneer direct reprogramming of differentiated glia towards neurons for repair. Magdalena Götz is director of the Institute of Stem Cell Research at the Helmholtz Center Munich and Chair of Physiological genomics at the Biomedical Center at Ludwig-Maximilians-University, Munich, Germany.

Senthil K Muthuswamy is a pioneer in the development and use of three-dimensional organoid culture methods to study morphogenesis and cancer biology. In addition, he is a world leader in research involving cell polarity proteins and their role in regulating biology of cancer cells. Senthil K Muthuswamy, Ph.D., is the Deputy Director of Translational Research and Director of the Cell Biology Program at the Cancer Centre at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Centre, Harvard Medical School.
