(IF 1.9) Pub Date : 2022-11-21 Larissa Pereira Modolo, Wellington Raimundo França, Márcia M. O. Simbara, Sonia M. Malmonge, Arnaldo R. Santos Jr.
Abstract In tissue engineering bioresorbable polymers are commonly used to mimetize a damaged tissue characteristics. In spite of that, we did not find a comparative study of the response of the same cell to dense, porous, and fibrous biomaterials. The present work aimed to study the in vitro of pure polymers [poly (ε-caprolactone) (PCL) and poly (hydroxybutyrate-co-hydroxyvalerate) (PHBV)] and their

Synthesis and characterization of new quinolinyl phenol based polybenzoxazine: thermal stability, hydrophobicity and corrosion resistant properties Int. J. Polym. Anal. Charact. (IF 1.9) Pub Date : 2022-11-12 Roja Chinnamuthu, Priyanka Madesh, Hariharan Arumugam, Balaji Krishnasamy, Latha Govindraj, Mallika Jaganathan, Alagar Muthukaruppan
Abstract A new class of quinolinyl phenol-based benzoxazines (QP-a, QP-cha, QP-2eha) were synthesized by using quinolinyl phenol [4-(6-chloro-4-phenylquinoline-2-yl)phenol] with three structurally distinct amines, namely aniline (a), cyclohexylamine (cha), and 2-ethylhexylamine (2eha) through Mannich condensation reaction using an appropriate solvent and reaction conditions. By using FTIR and 1H-NMR

Influence of monomer composition of poly(butylene succinate-co-hexamethylene succinate)s on their enzymatic hydrolysis by Fusarium solani cutinase Int. J. Polym. Anal. Charact. (IF 1.9) Pub Date : 2022-11-09 Ting Hu, Yujun Wang, Jingwei Lin, Zhanyong Wang
Abstract Poly(butylene succinate) (PBS), poly(hexamethylene succinate) (PHS) and three kinds of poly(butylene succinate-co-hexamethylene succinate)s (P(BS-co-HS)s) were enzymatically hydrolyzed by Fusarium solani cutinase. The results showed that the characteristics of the enzymatic hydrolysis of these polyesters were mainly affected by crystallinity, thermal properties and the BS/HS ratio. The enzymatic

Performance appraisal of a cross-linked polymer prepared by gamma radiation for the removal of copper and its binding mechanism Int. J. Polym. Anal. Charact. (IF 1.9) Pub Date : 2022-10-28 Ayman Massoud, Hazem H. Mahmoud
Abstract The improvement of adsorbent materials with specific characteristics is very important in different environmental applications such as the removal of undesirable elements (wastewater treatment) or separation of elements or radionuclides and remediation of organic pollutants from their solutions. Herein, a cross-linked poly(acrylic acid-dimethyl aminoethyl methacrylate) was prepared by a copolymerization

Research on temperature field during the hot pressing process of UHMWPE-based water-lubricated bearing Int. J. Polym. Anal. Charact. (IF 1.9) Pub Date : 2022-10-27 Song Chen, Xiangbin Rong, Xiangcai Bao, Si Li, Chao Li, Zhuo Chen, Lei Wei
Abstract This paper aimed at the problem of uneven heating of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) bearing in the process of UHMWPE was made into water-lubricated bearing, and have used ICEPAK software to study the temperature distribution of the UHMWPE during hot pressing. Research indicated that hot pressing UHMWPE was an unsteady heat transfer in the process of heating and holding.
