A new dehydrative glycosylation strategy has been developed rely on the sequential activation of sulfoxide and sulfide with 2‐aryl‐1,3‐dithiane 1‐oxide as dehydrative reagent. We briefly discussed the research background, concept proving, the challenges we encountered and unsolved problems of this method to afford further insight into dehydrative glycosylation.
