Seagrass, mangrove and tidal marsh ecosystems are increasingly recognized for the range of ecosystem services they provide. This includes carbon sequestration (Macreadie et al., 2017), coastal protection (Duarte, Losada, Hendriks, Mazarrasa, & Marbà, 2013), filtration of nutrient run‐off (Valiela & Cole, 2002), sustaining bio‐ diversity (Ward, Tockner, & Schiemer, 1999), and providing habitat and food for various fish species (Bloomfield & Gillanders, 2005). However, these ecosystems are heavily impacted by climate change, Received: 8 April 2019 | Revised: 14 September 2019 | Accepted: 22 September 2019 DOI: 10.1111/faf.12416
