A novel oxygen-doped carbon nitride material was reported as an efficient solid photocatalyst for the synthesis of 3-arylquinoxalin-2(1H)-ones via the reaction of quinoxaline-2(1H)-ones & aryl diazonium tetrafluoroborates under blue light irradiation in the absence of any metal, oxidant, or additives. This protocol features a wide substrate scope, good yields, and moderate reaction conditions.
