An organic dimer with TADF-type electroexcitation afterglow

Employing organic long-persistent luminescence emitters in efficient organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) has been highly desired. In this issue of Matter, Su et al. develop a dimer that exhibits long-lived thermally activated delayed fluorescence, enabling an efficient afterglow OLED with an external efficiency of 14.7%.
