A pair of zero-dimensional bismuth-based chiral perovskites has been introduced for the detection of circularly polarized light. The lower dimensional perovskites exhibit high degree of chirality-induced spin-selectivity allowing the transport of one type of spin-half state while blocking the other type resulting in an anisotropic current response of the photodetectors that can be used to detect the polarization state of CPL photons.
