We developed a system to conduct posture-measurable virtual prism adaptation therapy using an inside-out tracking stand-alone virtual reality system. This system enables the construction of a unilateral spatial neglect (USN) treatment room that is closed off from external stimuli from all surroundings in a hospital or home. Furthermore, it expands the prism adaptation body adaptive site, which was previously limited to the hand, to include the whole body using a symbolic body. This expansion allows for utilization of the new prism adaptation therapy in which giving postural feedback and the head is spontaneously turned to the neglected side. This prism adaptation is expected to improve the posture of patients with USN and turn the field of vision itself toward the neglected space. © 2022 Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan.
