This review explores contributions in asymmetric organocatalysis from the patent literature since 2018, including reactions catalyzed by Cinchona alkaloids as free base and quaternary salts, phosphonium salts, proline-derived catalysts, and chiral phosphoric acids. Examples of processes employing asymmetric organocatalysis for the industrial preparation of pharmaceutical intermediates are highlighted.
