Multi-response anisotropic hydrogels are developed by using a rotating magnetic field to orient the magnetic double stacks (MDSs) with γ-Fe2O3 nanoparticles sandwiched by two nanosheets. Patterned gels with sophisticated orientations of MDSs are fabricated by multi-step magnetic orientation and photolithographic polymerization, which exhibit programmed deformations and motions under synergetic actuations.
