Tropical plants do not have narrower temperature tolerances, but are more at risk from warming because they are close to their upper thermal limits

There was an error in the code for Sentinella, et al. (2020). Specifically, for the calculation of the “Current Climate Mismatch” and “Future Warming Risk” metrics, the incorrect climate variable was used. Where ‘Mean Temperature of Warmest Quarter’ (BIOCLIM 10) was meant to be used as stated in the text, ‘Mean Temperature of Wettest Quarter’ (BIOCLIM 8) was unknowingly and mistakenly used instead. Therefore a number of the results that are based on “Current Climate Mismatch” and “Future Warming Risk” need to be updated. All data and results based on germination tolerances, including “Germination Tolerance Breadth”, “Upper optimum germination temperature”, “Lower optimum germination temperature”, “Maximum germination temperature”, and “Minimum germination temperature”, remain unchanged. While many quantitative results have had to be updated (see below and updated supplementary files), most qualitative results and their implications remain unchanged. We detail all changes below. Author Sentinella sincerely apologises for this oversight.
