Abstract

At PAO Koks, an organic additive is produced by the thermal solution of coal in the laboratory. Its influence on the quality of metallurgical coke is investigated. The additive is produced from G coal concentrate, using the anthracene fraction of coal tar as the solvent. On introducing 5–10% of the additive in place of G coal, the strength CSR of the coke after reaction with CO2 is increased, and its reactivity CRI is decreased. The sulfur content is lower in the new additive than in petroleum additives.
