The improvement of photocatalysts’ performance is one of the hottest research topics nowadays. In this issue of Chem Catalysis, Fornasiero, Naldoni, and colleagues propose a promising design strategy for enhancing photocatalytic activity via the formation of engineered defects in brookite titania nanorods for substrate-specific oxidation reactions.
