Abstract

Six scientifically-substantive paradoxes of the current state of geoecology are identified. New theoretical grounds of geoecology as an interdisciplinary science developed on the basis of the concept of ecological functions performed by abiotic spheres of the Earth are formulated. They define the content, object, subject, and the logical and scientific structures of geoecology, geoecological conditions and their state, as well as the place of geoecology in the system of Earth and biosphere sciences.
