They also will remember who helped and stood up for them and whether they felt cared for and safe. In most cases, the virus has caused relatively minor illness among children. Measures such as lockdown, quarantine and closed borders have been primarily used to protect adults from serious illness or death as a result of COVID-19. These actions to protect the majority population of adults, however necessary or otherwise, have impacted on child rights and well-being. Indeed, it has been an imposed sacrifice.
