Front Cover: Supported catalysts for polyolefins behave very differently in slurry and gas-phase reactors. A systematic modeling study is executed to investigate how the presence of a diluent affects the equilibrium concentration of reactants in the polymer phase surrounding the active sites. The thermodynamic simulations agree with the experimental trends and can explain the distinct performance of catalysts in the two polymerization media.
