Nitrogen Reduction: The vanadium atoms decorated ferric oxide (named as V-α-Fe2O3) with polyhedral-like structure was obtained by a simple one-step hydrothermal method. Benefited from the incorporation of vanadium atoms, the electronic structure and the active center of α-Fe2O3 were well-optimized, with enhanced NRR activity being obtained. The 17 % V-α-Fe2O3 exhibits excellent catalytic activity, with the NH3 yield and the Faradaic efficiency (FE) being 68.7 μg h−1 mg−1cat. and 5.7 % at −0.2 V (vs. RHE), respectively.
