Preparation of polyethylene glycol-polyaniline multi-alternating block copolymer

Copolymerization is one of the important modification methods of polyaniline (PANI). But due to the synthesis mechanism and preparation condition, the synthesized polyaniline copolymers are mainly diblock or triblock copolymers in the past few decades. In this research, a method for synthesizing linear polyethylene glycol-polyaniline multi-alternating block (more than triblock) copolymer (PEG-PANI) was proposed. The results of FT-IR, 1HNMR, UV, XRD, DSC and TG analyses demonstrated that PEG-PANI was successfully synthesized. And the PEG-PANI copolymer not only has a liable adjustability in conductivity by way of adjusting the content of PANI, but also has a good solubility in polar solvents such as DMF and DMSO.
