In the above mentioned article, the first sentence in paragraph two on page 285 was incorrectly combined with a sentence that appeared earlier in the article. This was due to a technical error.

Upon first publication, the sentence incorrectly read: “With reference especially to Sapir’s prescient work, I contend that a critique of scalability focuses attention on questions of sociocultural studies of language. The concept of “scales of space agency that, some have urged (Duranti 2015; Kockelman 2007), are worthy of greater and more careful attention in linguistic anthropology.”

It should have read: “With reference especially to Sapir’s prescient work, I contend that a critique of scalability focuses attention on questions of agency that, some have urged (Duranti 2015; Kockelman 2007), are worthy of greater and more careful attention in linguistic anthropology.”

The publisher apologizes for this technical error.
