On a new class of abstract mixed variational–hemivariational problems

A new mixed variational–hemivariational problem is introduced, a(u,vu)+b(vu,λ)+φ(v)φ(u)+J0(Tu;TvTu)(f,vu)X, b(u,μλ)ψ(μ)+ψ(λ)Ψ0(Rλ;RμRλ)0, (vX, μΛY), focusing on its well-posedness. We are looking for a pair solution (u,λ)X×Λ working into a Hilbert spaces framework. Some particular cases with applications in mechanics are highlighted. A special attention is payed to a particular case leading to a mixed variational–hemivariational problem with penalty term. In order to illustrate the theory, we provide examples such that X,Y,Λ,a,b,φ,ψ,J,Ψ,R,T fulfill the working hypotheses.
