Thiophene with an oligoethylene oxide side chain (TOE) was introduced into a D-A copolymer acceptor, as the third unit, by simple random polymerization. A moderate amount of TOE loading does not only modulate the polymer-acceptor solubility and molecule arrangement, but also improves the compatibility between the polymer donor and acceptor.
