Dicyanopyrazine-derived Chromophore as An Efficient Photocatalyst for α-amino C-H Bond Functionalization

We report a formal method for C−H bond functionalization of amines using dicyanopyrazine-derived photocatalyst. Two types of reactions have been demonstrated, including Michael addition and monofluoromethylation. Under transition-metal free conditions, the α-aminoalkyl radicals are produced through single electron transfer and subsequent deprotonation of C−H bonds, then the functionalized products are formed through later addition of generated radicals to electron-deficient alkenes.
