The influence of acid-base properties of MgO-Al2O3 systems obtained by the decomposition of hydrotalcites with ratio of Mg/Al = 1÷3 on their activity and selectivity in the process of ethanol conversion to 1-butanol is studied.The highest values of selectivity and specific rate of BuOH formation are achieved with ratio Mg/Al = 2 for the sample, which according to the test results is characterized by the largest number of acid and basic sites in the dehydrogenation/dehydration reactions of isopropanol.
