Well preserved asterozoan ichnofossils (Asteriacites lumbricalis von Schlotheim) are documented from calcareous sandstone lenses within the upper part of the Harford Member of the Middle Jurassic (Aalenian) Birdlip Limestone Formation, in the north Cotswolds, central England. The ichnofossils are interpreted as undertraces, generated by the activity of small ophiuroids in a storm-influenced muddy coastal lagoon or bay margin setting.
