Abstract

An efficient and facile method has been developed for the synthesis of chiral β-amino bromides from their corresponding alcohols under Appel reaction conditions. This approach allows for the deoxybromination of a variety of β-amino alcohols in excellent yields under mild conditions without any detectable racemization.
