A novel hydrogel was formed by mixing phenylboronic acid grafted sodium hyaluronate and polyvinyl alcohol based on the reversibility of the boronate ester bond. Moreover, a straightforward method has been exploited to directly prepare microneedle patches from a glucose-responsive hydrogel, which endows microneedle patches with good morphology and high drug loading capacity.
