Biomaterials, which can also be used for clinical management applications for wound healing, are encouraged by gold loaded nanoparticles. The present work describes the formulations of wound dressings based on Dextran (DEX)-polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) nanocluster encapsulated with gold (Au) nanocomposites. The Au solutions are fabricated in the DEX/PVA matrix using Gold nanoparticles (Au@DEX/PVA). The effects on DEX/PVA nanoparticles was investigated for various experimental limitations. Scanning electron microscopy (HR-SEM) measured DEX/PVA and Au@DEX/PVA nanoparticle sizes. In addition, for Gram-Positive and Negative bacterial, the antibacterial efficacy of DEX/PVA and Au@DEX/PVA was established. The in vitro viability studies of DEX/PVA and Au@DEX/PVA has been performed using non-cancerous NIH-3T3 cells. In addition, we investigated in vivo skin wound healing developed over 16 days in mouse models. Unlike untreated wounds, the Au@DEX/PVA-treated wounds with minor damage received accelerated healing. These results show that bandaging materials based on Au@DEX/PVA may be a possible advanced biomaterial for wound healing and implantation in an animal model for use in wound healing applications.
