Toroidal Resonance Tunability in THz Metamaterial Based on Perovskite

Abstract

Recently, the terahertz metamaterials based on perovskite have become a hot spot due to the special optical properties. Therefore, a planar metamaterial consisting of split-ring resonators (SRRs) and perovskite is proposed to realize a transition from toroidal dipolar to electric dipole at terahertz frequency. We theoretically research on the strong association between perovskite and the planar metamaterial. Simulations show the transmission amplitude of toroidal dipolar resonance can be dynamically tuned and eventually almost disappears with increasing the photoconductivity of perovskite. The metamaterial we proposed have the capability to design some applications such as tunable terahertz lasers, terahertz polarizers and so on.
