The Government land is a very important, costly and a crucial part of land as per revenue records. The encroachment/unauthorised activities on the Government land is a very common phenomenon as well as a very challenging issue for the district revenue administration. In the present era, the Geo-Spatial technology plays an enabling role to monitor land usage and contain such issues. To monitor and protect the Government Land in the district of Patan; a Mobile Application along with a GIS based application Portal named – BHOOMI PRAHARI, have been developed by District Collectorate, Patan with the help of BISAG. Authorised Revenue field Officers (Talati) can visit the field with credentials for verification of the government land and using Mobile Application he can take as well as upload geo-tagged photographs of the site location into the central server. The GIS based web portal allows to access the information, as collected using Mobile Application – “Bhoomi Prahari” by Revenue Field Officer (Talati), for the planning and monitoring of Land Use.
