We as the authors of the article “Clinopyroxene megacrysts fromMarion Island, Antarctic Ocean: evidence for a late stage shallow origin” (Roberts et al. 2019) gratefully accept the constructive Comment received from Dr. Hedding. Dr. Hedding is an expert onMarion Island, having had many field seasons there, and he is undoubtedly correct that we have placed the sampling location in the wrong position. In our private discussions with Dr. Hedding, he noted that the clinopyroxene scoria cones are much rarer than we had believed, and that only Pyroxene Kop consists primarily of clinopyroxene megacrysts. We also note that we did not correctly acknowledge the eruption in 2004, which Dr. Hedding has pointed out.
