Abstract

A variety of azolyl pyrimidinyl acetamides were prepared from azolyl glycinate and 4,6-diaryl/heteroarylpyrimidinyl-2-amines in the presence of DMAP under ultrasonication. Nitrophenyl, pyridinyl and indolyl substituted thiazolyl pyrimidinyl acetamides (9c, 9e, 9f) and imidazolyl pyrimidinyl acetamides (10c, 10e, 10f) showed excellent antibacterial activity against B. subtilis and MBC is 2xMIC. The compounds 9c, 10c and 10e also showed excellent antifungal activity against A. niger and MFC is 2xMIC.
