Crime Fiction in German: Der Krimi fi lls an important niche. Th e broad consideration of the genre’s many varieties over more than two hundred years sets this volume apart from studies limited to particular time periods or themes, such as Th omas W. Kniesche’s Contemporary German Crime Fiction (2016) and Faye Stewart’s Feminist Queer Crime Fiction (2014). In addressing an Englishspeaking audience of academics and nonacademics, Der Krimi also diff erentiates itself from publications like Tatort Germany (Lynn M. Kutch and Todd Herzog, eds., 2014). Th is volume profi ciently off ers readers an introduction, comprehensive overview, and expanded understanding of the numerous and sometimes unexpected Germanlanguage contributions to the crime genre to demonstrate that reading, writing, and studying German crime can pay. Wie Fremde Fremde sehen。 Selbstreflexion und Selbstverortung jüdischer Identität
