That photo we never got, a research-based project by artist Shilpa Gupta, sets out to explore the worlds of friendships, associations, love, and incongruities in the ield of art. Working alongside Asia Art Archive’s Senior Researcher Sabih Ahmed, the artist draws out narratives from the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s to follow the innumerable tangents and overlapping vectors across and beyond the Archive’s collection.
