The article describes the discussions that occurred at the American Psychological Association’s Minority Fellowship Summit on Master’s Level Training for Psychological Practice. Four core areas of impact were considered by experts/participants, 1 of which was scope of practice. The other 3 were: (a) marketplace and workforce issues, (b) regulatory factors and licensure, and (c) quality assurance and accreditation. This article provides a brief description of the topic of scope of practice, and the perspectives that were reflected in the discussion at the Summit are presented. This is followed by a review of proposed action steps that were based on consensus of Summit participants. Finally, implications for scope of practice of master’s psychology practitioners is considered.
