To the Editor We write regarding the recent article by Santos et al,¹ which was recently discussed at an online journal club based in the UK.² We enjoyed reading and reviewing the Laparoscopic Elective Sigmoid Resection Following Diverticulitis (LASER) trial and applaud the authors on a well-designed study. We thought that the study was well written and addressed an important clinical issue. We discussed a number of issues that we would like to raise.
