Outside Front Cover: The effective purification method for the hazardous microbial species in sewage is urgent needed. Here, the evaluation and purification effect of sewage treated by air surface discharge plasma is reported. The most sensitive bacterial flora is revealed based on inactivation map by the DNA sequence. The inactivation and purification effects are closely linked to the key agents ONOO− and H2O2. This study would provide a potential alternative for sewage purification.
