Abstract

The temperatures of devitrification of cold crystallization, melting, and glass transition of samples of the CaO–B2O3–Al2O3–CuO system are determined by the methods of differential thermal analysis. The viscosity of alumina–calcium borate melts containing up to 8.1% of CuO is measured in the temperature range of 880 to 1300°C. It is shown that the addition of copper oxide reduces the viscosity and activation energy of the viscous flow.
