Intimacy with the psychic content of the unconscious prepares one for the external realization of the Self as spirit. The Self, the archetype of spirit or the God-image, is hidden in the unconscious of the world, the anima mundi. To become the Self is to achieve Wholeness, that is, psychological health, well-being, and union with the imago Dei.
