Thermoelastic problem in the setting of dual-phase-lag heat conduction: Existence and uniqueness of a weak solution

We investigate an isotropic thermoelastic system with dual-phase-lag heat conduction. We consider a homogeneous Dirichlet boundary condition for displacement and temperature. We formulate the variational formulation for the associated fully hyperbolic coupled system. By using a time discretization method, we show the existence of a unique weak solution under lower regularity assumptions on the data than established before in literature.
