Competing order parameters of SC and AFM in bilayer cuprate superconductors

Antiferromagnetism and d-wave superconductivity are the most important competing ground-state phases of cuprate superconductors. In this regard, we have proposed a model Hamiltonian describing the interlayer tunnelling in d-wave bilayer cuprate superconductors in the coexistence of superconductivity and antiferromagnetism. The Hamiltonian model is solved for the quasiparticle energy bands, the superconducting and the antiferromagnetic gap parameters by using Zubarev’s technique of double time electron Green’s functions. The effects of interlayer tunnelling are studied for superconducting and antiferromagnetic gap parameters.
