As I sat down to put together these comments about feminist and anti‐racist strategies, I thought about what I know. As a scholar and activist who has been both theorizating and engaging in Black feminist praxis for the better part of 20 years, I have found that one of the key elements of successful organizing is an emphasis on collectivity, and the displacement of a singular individual as the defining marker of a movement’s success. Black feminist movements such as Kitchen Table: Women of Color Press and the Combahee River Collective serve as the ground upon which contemporary feminist coalitions, such as, for example, the Crunk Feminist Collective have emerged.
