Curing of an Epoxy Composition in the Presence of Functionalized Diene Rubber

Abstract

The effect of butadiene rubber containing a terminal aldehyde group on the rheological and physicomechanical properties of epoxy resin cured with iso-methyltetrahydrophthalic anhydride is investigated. It is found that the temperature of the initial stage of curing determines structural features of epoxy–rubber compositions. The developed epoxy–rubber composition has improved deformation and strength properties and impact elasticity.
