This species represents the first record of the adult of the extinct family Dorytocidae. The supplementary description for the fourth-instar nymph of Dorytocus ornithorhynchus Emeljanov & Shcherbakov is provided. The morphological peculiarities of the new fossil species are briefly discussed, and family diagnosis is now based on the combination of both adult and nymph characters.
