Abstract

Some questions related to the establishment, development, and prospects of physical studies using inelastic thermal-neutron scattering are briefly reviewed. The directions of these studies are determined by the unique possibilities of neutron technique for studying atomic-vibrational and magnetic excitations in condensed media.
