A new periodic beam-like structure with special vibration-isolation characteristics

Abstract

This article proposes a new periodic structure. The Adomian decomposition method and ANSYS software are employed to study the influence of geometrical parameters on the first three vibration band gaps and natural frequencies, respectively. Results show that all the bands can get close to each other by changing geometrical parameters. Furthermore, a set of natural frequencies are within the band gaps for some values of geometrical parameters. Forced vibration analysis shows that both wave propagation and resonance do not occur at some of these frequencies. These unique features demonstrate that this structure can be used to design efficient vibration absorbers.
